RESEARCH

Suspense is a feeling of uncertainty and anxiety about the outcome of certain actions, most often referring to an audience's perceptions in a dramatic film or clip. Suspense is particularly useful in directing tension towards certain aspects in a scene. This in turn has a psychological and emotional effect amongst the audience as suspense is being portrayed in various ways. Alfred Hitchcock states, "Suspense is an emotional process".
